One of Asia’s most highly acclaimed watercolourists, Ong Kim Seng is renowned for his scenes of Nepal, Bali, and Singapore. Ong was awarded the Cultural Medallion by Singapore in 1990 and is also the first Asian outside of the United States to be awarded the prestigious American Watercolour Society (AWS) membership in 1990. He is a receipt of 8 awards from the AWS and was conferred the distinguished Dolphin Fellowship by the Society in 2000. Mr. Ong has been an Art Advisor to the National Arts Council since 1998 and is a life Fellow of the National University of Singapore’s Centre of the Arts. He previously served as the President of the Singapore Watercolour Society from 1991 to 2001 and is currently their Honorary President. Ong’s works are collected by important individuals and institutions around the world, including Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom, Singapore Arts Museum; Singapore, Maritime Museum, the Agung Rai Museum and Neka Museum in Bali, Indonesia; the Ministry of Foreign Affairs headquarters, Foreign Missions and Embassies of the Republic of Singapore.
