“Sojourns“ is a group exhibition of 17 exquisite works by nine selected artists from the legendary Ten Men Group. The artists featured are the revered Yeh Chi Wei, Chen Cheng Mei, Choo Keng Kwang, Lai Foong Moi, Lee Sik Khoon, Lim Tze Peng, Seah Kim Joo, Tan Choh Tee, and Tan Teo Kwang. A collective of artists that travelled to numerous Southeast Asian countries and India in search of artistic inspiration, the Ten Men Group is known for the regionalism of their visual sources, semi-abstractionism, and the introduction of archaic elements into modern art. Sojourns celebrates the product of the Group’s expeditions, which went beyond the foundations laid by the pioneers following their historic Bali trips.
