IN AUGUST COMPANY

1 — 23 AUGUST 2024

CHUA EK KAY
LIM TZE PENG

Confluence Art Space is honoured to present “In August Company”, an exhibition featuring 15 ink paintings by two Cultural Medallion recipients, Chua Ek Kay and Lim Tze Peng. The word “August” which is the month the show will be held in, is also an adjective that can be used to refer to an individual respected by and of great importance to society. The late Chua Ek Kay is hailed as the bridge between Eastern and Western art, while Lim Tze Peng, 102 years old at the time of writing, is regarded as Singapore’s living national treasure. Visitors to this exhibition will be In August Company, a fitting description for both eminent Singapore artists, who are highly regarded by the artistic community and beyond, both domestically and aboard.
